RECIPES - Home made Ice cream

Milk can become homemade ice cream in five minutes by using a bag! This homemade, creamy treat is a summertime delight for kids and adults alike.

What you'll need:
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup milk or half & half
- 2 tsp instant dessert
- 6 Tbsp rock salt
- 1 medium plastic food storage bag (e.g., Ziploc)
- 1 large or extra large plastic food storage bag
- Ice cubes

How to make it:
1. Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
2. Put milk, instant dessert, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it.
3. Place the small bag inside the large one, and seal it again carefully.
4. Shake until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.
5. Wipe off the top of the small bag, then open it carefully. Enjoy!

Tips:
A 1/2 cup milk will make about 1 scoop of ice cream, so double the recipe if you want more. But don't increase the proportions more that that - a large amount might be too big for kids to pick-up because the ice itself is heavy.

KIDS PARTY - Ice cream Theme

Great party theme that can be used from toddlers all the way up to teenagers.

Invitations:
Cut out ice cream cones and different flavor scoops from cardstock and glue them together to make a cone, add a red pompom on top as a cherry if you wish. On the back write "I Scream you scream, (childs name) screams for ice cream! Please help us celebrate at the (surname)'s Ice Cream Parlour (your address time date etc.)".

Games / Activities:
*Ice cream scoop races. Each child has a ice cream cone and plastic ball or painted styrofoam ball, and has to race without their 'icecream' (ball) falling off, if it does the child has to go back to the start.
*Pin the cherry on the ice cream sundae, make a big ice cream sundae out of paper and the kids take turns to pin red circles (cherries) on the top.
*Make home made ice cream (recipe on my blog, or use your own)

Party Food:
-Cake made to look like an ice cream. Bake 1 rectangle and 1 or 2 circle cakes. Cut the rectangle to look like the cone then stack the circles on top and decorate.
-Ice cream sundaes, each kid can use their own home made ice cream. Make sure you buy extra ice cream in case some kids don't turn out. Toppings can include chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, mini M&M's, crushed oreos, rainbow sprinkles, cherries, chopped nuts etc..
-Marshmallow ice cream cones (recipe on my blog).
-Muffins iced to look like ice creams with a cherry on top.
-Ice cream sodas, a scoop of ice cream in a cup topped with lemonade.

Party Favors:
-Make cones out of card then fill with lollies. Secure a balloon on the top as the ice cream scoop, to hold the lollies in.
-Ice cream cone shaped lip gloss, erasers, lollies etc.
-You could also include a certificate to a nearby ice cream store.
